The CAUHEC Verified Preceptor Program recognizes licensed clinicians who support the clinical education of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The CAUHEC Verified Preceptor Program is a national recognition program for licensed clinicians who are eligible and available to support clinical training for healthcare students.
Clinicians who receive the CAUHEC Verified Preceptor designation have completed a structured process confirming their professional licensure, clinical specialty, and eligibility to serve as a preceptor. The designation is displayed through a digital badge that can be shared on LinkedIn, professional profiles, and other platforms.
The program is part of CAUHEC Connect, the clinical placement infrastructure platform that connects healthcare education programs with qualified preceptors across nursing, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, allied health, genetic counseling, physician (MD/DO), and pharmacy disciplines.
The verification process is completed through the CAUHEC Connect platform. Download the app on iOS or Android to get started.
Download CAUHEC Connect and complete your clinician profile, including discipline, specialty, and practice setting.
Provide your active professional license information and documentation confirming your clinical specialty and current practice.
Our team reviews your submitted information. Standard review is completed within five to seven business days of a complete submission.
Verified Preceptors receive the CAUHEC Verified Preceptor digital badge and are listed as Verified within the CAUHEC Connect network.
Clinical preceptors are essential to the training pipeline that produces the nurses, therapists, and practitioners who will care for communities across the country.
The United States faces a significant and growing healthcare workforce challenge. Tens of thousands of qualified nursing applicants are turned away from education programs each year — not because preceptors are unwilling, but because the infrastructure to identify and coordinate with them does not exist at scale.
CAUHEC Connect is building that infrastructure. The CAUHEC Verified Preceptor Program is how we recognize the clinicians who make it possible.
The CAUHEC Verified Preceptor Program is open to licensed healthcare clinicians who hold an active professional license and are currently engaged in clinical practice.
It means a clinician has completed a structured process through CAUHEC Connect that confirms their active professional licensure, clinical specialty, and general eligibility to support healthcare students as a preceptor. It is not a clinical certification and does not determine scope of practice or clinical competency.
No. The CAUHEC Verified Preceptor designation is a platform verification and professional recognition, not a professional certification or credentialing program. Academic programs and clinical sites remain responsible for confirming that individual preceptors meet their specific requirements.
Standard review is completed within five to seven business days of a complete submission. You will be notified through the CAUHEC Connect platform when your review is complete.
Verification is maintained on an annual basis. Verified Preceptors will be prompted through the CAUHEC Connect platform to confirm continued licensure and eligibility each year.
Please visit cauhec.org or contact us at contactus@cauhec.org for current information about program access and any applicable fees.
Verification makes your profile visible and searchable to academic programs and clinical coordinators using the CAUHEC Connect platform. It does not guarantee placement requests or student assignments, as those depend on institutional partnerships, specialty needs, and availability.
Important: CAUHEC Verified Preceptor designation is a platform recognition issued by CAUHEC Connect (Rescon International Inc.) and does not constitute a professional certification, clinical credential, or determination of clinical competency or scope of practice. Designation reflects professional standing and platform eligibility at the time of verification. Academic institutions and clinical sites are responsible for confirming that preceptors meet their specific program and accreditation requirements. CAUHEC Connect is not a staffing agency.

Yes, completely — when your school is a member. Schools fund the stipends from their existing budgets or grants. Students pay nothing extra beyond their normal tuition.
Most hospitals already have affiliation agreements with local schools. We work within existing frameworks — you're just getting fairly compensated for mentoring you might already do.
You control everything. Set your own schedule, choose how many students, approve every match. Most rotations are 8–12 weeks with students following your existing shifts.
This is covered under the school affiliation agreement — the same way it works in any clinical rotation today.
You approve every match and can set your own standards. Schools want their students to succeed, so they'll ensure quality placements. You can also end a rotation early if something's not working.
Schools pay stipends directly through our secure platform. You choose your rate expectations, and we match you with schools that meet your requirements. Funds are pre-confirmed before any connection is initiated.

With 25+ years as a frontline nurse in Burn, Trauma, ER, ICU, and as a healthcare executive, Dr. Elaina McAdams has lived your world. She's managed $475M+ in healthcare budgets and helped scale a healthcare staffing startup to unicorn status.
After watching qualified students get rejected from programs — not for lack of ability, but lack of placement opportunities — she decided enough was enough.
"I've been the overworked nurse asked to take students for free. I've been the administrator scrambling for preceptors. This system is broken, and we are working to fix it."
